Cambridge Centre evacuated for suspicious package

A suspicious package evacuated Cambridge Centre mall for one-and-a-half hours Thursday morning.

Six squad cars were parked out front of the mall’s main doors and officers were seen making a sweep outside as employees from the mall’s various stores stood in the parking lot and along the walls of the building.

Before 10 a.m., store managers received a text stating, “Cambridge Centre Emergency. We are experiencing an active threat. Proceed to a secure location and await further instructions.”
