Water service disruptions continued Thursday for thousands of residents in Porter Ranch and Granada Hills with temperatures expected to soar into the 90s and triple digits.
More than 9,200 LA Department of Water and Power customers in the two northwest San Fernando Valley communities, where residents were told to use bottled water or boiled tap water for cooking and drinking. The outage started Tuesday after an underground valve that control water flow failed to open.

Repairs began immediately, but were not expected to be complete until Friday. In the meantime, temperatures are expected to peak this week on Thursday with a high of 97 in the west San Fernando Valley forecast.
