Construction of a new bridge on northbound U.S. 63 north of Broadway in Columbia is at its final stage, which will bring a traffic shift, according to a news release from the Missouri Department of Transportation.
Starting Wednesday, head-to-head traffic will shift from the southbound lanes to the northbound lanes between Broadway (south of Interstate 70) and Vandiver Drive (north of I-70), according to the release.
The traffic shift will allow construction crews to begin rehabilitation work on the southbound U.S. 63 overpass bridge over I-70. Drivers will be head-to-head in the northbound lanes through the end of September, according to the release.
The changes are minimal as all exit and entrance ramps for U.S. 63 are expected to remain open, according to the news release.
