A New Orleans attorney who has been indicted in a wide-ranging staged wrecks scheme has been accused of violating her bond conditions by gambling at a Mississippi casino.

According to court documents, Vanessa Motta is accused of gambling a substantial amount of money away on slot machines at the Beau Rivage in Biloxi. Advertisement

Federal prosecutors allege Motta has gambled a total of $836,401.81 at slot machines since January 2020.

Court documents allege Motta gambled more than $100,000 on slot machines this year.

The government alleges that Motta misrepresented the trips to the casino to her pretrial services officer as trips with her children.
