BISMARCK, N.D. (KFYR) - Several construction projects will begin at various state campgrounds starting this month.

State Parks and Recreation Director Cody Schultz said they’re focusing on improving electricity and water access at Rough Rider, Icelandic, Grahams Island and Fort Ransom State Parks.

Work will start on Aug. 18 at Rough Rider State Park. Some of the improvements include increasing the number of campsites at the Little Muddy Breaks equestrian loop, septic dump modifications and easier accessibility to the Maah Daah Hey trail.

Construction at Icelandic and Grahams Island will start on Sept. 2. Work at Fort Ransom will begin on September 8. Schultz said these projects will add individual water hydrants and upgrade power capacity.
