WASHINGTON — Overcrowding has become a significant issue at local animal shelters, prompting officials to encourage community members to consider adoption.
According to Washington Animal Control Officer Beth Trousdale, the Washington Animal Shelter is offering free adoptions thanks to Daviess County Friends For Animals, to help find homes for the large number of dogs and cats currently in its care. It also includes spaying or neutering of your new pet.
The shelter has extended its hours to make it easier for families to visit and adopt a new pet.
Trousdale noted that there is an abundance of animals looking for homes. Those interested in adopting can visit the shelter to find their next family member. For more information, call 812-254-8226 or email animalcontrol@washingtonin.us
