A Winnipeg police officer is facing a long list of new criminal charges — including allegations that he took an intimate photo of a deceased woman and distributed it, and that he repeatedly stole police ammunition over several years and gave it to a civilian.
At a news conference Wednesday, police Chief Gene Bowers and Deputy Chief Cam Mackid announced that Const. Elston Bostock has been rearrested and now faces 18 new criminal charges, including indignity to human remains, distribution of an intimate image, breach of trust, drug trafficking, and theft.

The charges stem from a lengthy 16-month internal investigation led by the Winnipeg Police Service’s Professional Standards Unit. A second officer, Const. Vernon Strutinsky, has also been charged with two criminal offe
