CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG) - A Dollar General truck caught fire after coming in contact with power lines in Cedar Rapids on Thursday.
At approximately 10:28 a.m. Thursday, The Cedar Rapids Fire Department responded to a report of an electrical power line arced, making contact with a semi-trailer at a commercial loading dock in the 100 block of Jacolyn Drive NW.
According to a release, at 10:37 a.m. the report was updated as a vehicle fire. Upon arrival, firefighters found a semi-trailer on fire.
Cedar Rapids firefighters responded to the incident and extinguished the fire.
The trailer and contents inside were severely damaged. The building was not damaged.
The fire is believed to be caused by the vehicle coming in contact with power lines but the incident is still under investigation.
