OXFORD, Iowa (KWQC) - Iowa is known for corn and soybean farms.
But one farmer is focusing on a sweeter-smelling crop: lavender.
The farm has 8,000 lavender plants, making it a place where purple fields and their floral aroma bring the community together.
Many of people enjoying the lavender are already at Calyx Creek Lavender & Lodging — in tree houses.
“Some great conversations with people curious about lavender. People staying in our tree houses. Sometimes people will even come from their tree houses and want to help on the farm while they’re staying here,” said owner Taylor Getting.
Purple is the highlight everywhere you look — in products, food, drinks, tours, events, and lodging.
People love visiting and taking in the nature.
“I loved the idea that this was a family-owned farm
