A spirit of fellowship, faith, and refined fun will be brewing in Clinton this weekend as Lisbon Street Missionary Baptist Church prepares to host its inaugural community tea, spearheaded by longtime community leader and church member Patty Cherry.
The event, scheduled for this Saturday, Aug. 9, marks the beginning of what Cherry hopes will become a cherished annual tradition, leading up to the church’s Women’s Day celebration on the fourth Sunday in August.
“This is our first tea for our upcoming Women’s Day program, and we plan to make it an annual event,” Cherry explained in an interview.
The tea will be held at 501 Lisbon St. in Clinton, welcoming women and men from all across Sampson County to come together for an afternoon centered around unity, Christian love, and tradition.
