BRAINERD — Expectations are now for it to feel like 100 degrees across much of the region Friday, Aug. 8.
A heat advisory was issued until 8 p.m. Thursday. And a warmer day is expected Friday with air temperatures expected to push past 90 degrees, about 10 degrees warmer than the normal high for this time of year. Even if the air temperature reaches an expected 91 degrees Friday, it will be short of setting a record. The record high for Aug. 8 was recorded in 1983 at 98 degrees.
The heat risk increased to the major level for the seven-county region.
