OKALOOSA COUNTY, Fla. (WKRG) — The summer for students in Okaloosa County is coming to an end, with school starting on Aug. 11.

As part of the new school year, the Okaloosa County School District is bringing in new curriculum in some areas.

According to an OCSD news release, the new curriculum will be in STEM, art and career and technical education programs.

Superintendent Marcus Chambers said those programs are expected to "spark curiosity, build skills and prepare students for a bright future."

"There’s something for everyone, and we can’t wait to see what our students accomplish,” he said.

In Chambers' welcome back letter to students and parents, he said the school system holds high expectations for respectful behavior, academic performance and personal responsibility.
