Peoria, IL (WMBD) - We've been treated to a cool start to August but we're taking a look at a hot and muggy August from 2020 and how we're looking for the rest of the month.

August 10th, 2020 became a historic day when a derecho barreled through Iowa and northern Illinois. Many of us in Central Illinois were fortunate, as the worst of the storm stayed along I-80. We still saw areas of wind damage, but not to the same extent as Iowa and northern Illinois. This storm went from nothing to something in a matter of hours. The Storm Prediction Center even issuing special updates to push out critical information.
