BLOOMINGTON, Ill (WMBD) -- Country Financial and Heartland Community College teamed up to bring in a fifth year of their high school scholarship program.

On Thursday afternoon, students from schools around the Twin Cities all gathered at Heartland Community College to learn from mentors about how to achieve their academic goals.

The program offers high school students the chance to take dual-credit college courses while attending to their normal school schedule to help them fast-track to an associate's degree.

Senior Wholesaling Consultant for Country Financial, José Peréz, said that this program is also beneficial because of the mentorship opportunities that it offers.
