CANFIELD - The summer high-visibility enforcement initiative by the Ohio State Highway Patrol (OSP) Canfield Post and the Youngstown Police Department has come to a close.
The operation ran from June 19 through August 1 of 2025 and involved an increased number of visible patrol cars along Interstate 680.
According to the OSP, the initiative saw an almost 50% reduction in crashes on the interstate throughout the campaign. Troopers made 438 stops and issued 246 citations.
Authorities also made four felony drug arrests and 20 arrests for driving while under the influence. Each arrestee was offered substance abuse treatment assistance courtesy of Meridian Health Services.
Troopers will continue to remain active in the area even after the operation has ended.
