Every hurricane season, Louisiana's coastline is threatened by potential storms.

"When a local comes to talk to me, they're always like 'I remember going hunting out there when I was a kid and now it's all open water.' Or, 'I remember going rabbit hunting, but now it's all open water,'" said Barry Richard, construction, operations, and maintenance manager for the Louisiana Coastal Protection and Restoration Authority.
The CPRA was created in response to Katrina and other storms, and its work includes creating marshes at Lake Borgne.
