LANSING, Mich. (WILX) - Carlton Valentine, a two-time state champion basketball coach at Lansing Sexton and former Michigan State basketball player, is being inducted into the Greater Lansing Sports Hall of Fame on Thursday, and his sons, Denzel and Drew, came to the ceremony to celebrate their dad.
Denzel followed in Carlton’s footsteps and played basketball at MSU before he was drafted in the first round of the 2016 NBA Draft. He still plays professionally in Italy.
Drew Valentine played at Oakland University before becoming a graduate assistant coach at Michigan State and has been the head coach at Loyola Chicago since 2021.
