CHARLESTON, S.C. —

A suspect is in custody following two police chases and a crash involving a civilian vehicle in Charleston County, South Carolina, authorities say.

On Thursday, a deputy with the Charleston County Sheriff’s Office K-9 Unit spotted a suspect driving a vehicle that had previously fled from deputies the day before.

The deputy attempted a traffic stop in the 3800 block of Ladson Road, but the suspect sped off prompting a high-speed pursuit.

According to deputies, the chase lasted about nine minutes, reaching speeds of up to 100 mph, before the suspect crashed into a civilian vehicle on Blue House Road, just off Highway 78.

There were no injuries reported in the civilian vehicle.
