SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (KY3) - Vendors prepped on Thursday for the Birthplace of Route 66 Festival.

City leaders outlined the changes attendees can expect this year. Jenny Connell is one of the many vendors setting up for the Historic Route 66 festival in downtown Springfield. This is her first year being a part of the event.

“The setup has been great, everyone here has been awesome. We got here at about 7:45 this morning,” Connell said.

Other vendors, like Trey Hatchcock, said the setup process was pretty seamless.

“We load up from the shop, bring it up here, and we have plenty of space to set up, put up the tent to keep the shade,” Hatchcock said.

City of Springfield leaders said there are also plenty of changes attendees can expect this year, including the placement of the main stage.
