MAURY COUNTY, Tenn. (WSMV) - A “serious” crash has closed a Maury County highway.

The Maury County Fire Department said the crash happened on New Highway 7 just north of Industrial Park Road.

The Tennessee Highway Patrol is on scene and said the westbound lanes of Hwy 7 are closed. THP expects the road to remain closed for an extended period of time

Drivers are asked to use Theta Pike, Old TVA Road and Darks Mill Road as alternative routes.

No details on injuries have been released at this time.

THP is investigating the crash.
