INDIANAPOLIS – Most of the construction on a heavily traveled stretch of Interstate 465 should wrap up by the end of the year.
The Indiana Department of Transportation said crews have made significant progress on the Clear Path 465 project on Indy’s northeast side.
Work started on the I-465 and I-69 interchange in 2022. The project aims to improve traffic flow and safety along the busy interstate corridor, which is notorious for traffic congestion. INDOT said roughly 100,000 drivers, on average, use it daily.
So far, INDOT has completed work on nine of 14 new bridges. Crews are currently setting beams on the 465 bridge over Binford Boulevard, which involves some overnight lane and ramp closures.
