PEORIA, Ill. (WMBD) -- The Peoria Civic Center comes alive for Ignite Peoria, a full day of hands-on, eyes-on and ears-on creativity, innovation, live performances and more, Aug. 9, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Dr. Julie Traenkenschuh, the main stage emcee for the event, stopped by WMBD This Morning to discuss Ignite Peoria.

The festival features an exciting lineup of main stage performances, with music, dance and theatre throughout the day. Add in fashion runway models, engineers, inventors and creators and you're closer, but the event also features a complete open mic stage for guests to bring their own entertainment.
