The Louisiana governor is ordering state police to launch an immediate investigation into dumped court files in New Orleans.

Hundreds of sensitive criminal court records, including files tied to rapes and capital murder cases, were accidentally thrown out and buried in the Gentilly Landfill by city employees.
Orleans Clerk of Court Darren Lombard called it both preventable and deeply disturbing.
“It made me sick to my stomach to see that and knowing the reason why it's there and still reflecting and thinking about what could have been prevented by the use of technology in previous years,” said Lombard.
