A 17-year-old was shot in Brockton late Wednesday night in the vicinity of a local cemetery, police said.

Brockton police said in a statement that officers responded around 11:20 p.m. to 88 North Pearl St. for a report of a male party who’d been shot in the leg.

“Upon arrival, officers located a 17-year-old male suffering from a leg injury,” police said.

The address where officers found the teen is the location of Melrose Cemetery; police said the “circumstances surrounding how and where the injury occurred remain under investigation.”

The youth was taken to a Boston hospital, and his injuries weren’t believed to be life threatening, police said.

No arrests have been made.
