Dirty Linen Night returns to the French Quarter this weekend.

Attendees are encouraged to sip, shop and stroll down Royal Street between Bienville and Ursulines from 6 to 9 p.m. Advertisement

This is the 22nd year for the event, which encourages people to visit French Quarter businesses that often experience a summer slump in sales.

Dirty Linen Night also raises money for charity. This year, proceeds from wristband sales go to The Please Foundation, a nonprofit offering scholarships and mentorship to local kids in need.

"Please meant a lot to me," said Ezekiel Whitley. "It's opened a lot of doors for me. I came in as a shy kid, and now I can talk to anybody. It's just been a blessing, more like a family than a scholarship foundation."
