(NewsNation) — Instagram has introduced three new features, including the ability to share your location, to help users “better connect” with their friends.

The upgrades to the Meta-owned app were introduced on Wednesday. Here is a look at what’s new and what you need to know, especially when it comes to location sharing.

The ability to repost content

Users can now repost public reels and feed posts. According to Instagram, “reposts will be recommended to your friends’ and followers’ feeds” and will appear in a separate tab in the profile section.

In addition, reposts will be credited to the original poster. The app notes that this will allow content creators to reach more people, as their reposted content could be recommended to people who don’t even follow them.
