KERSHAW COUNTY, S.C. (WIS) - A child is recovering after being hit by a vehicle in Kershaw County on Friday morning.

Kershaw County Sheriff Lee Boan said the 11-year-old was “clipped” by a car on Lockhart Road while waiting for a bus. The Kershaw County School District later confirmed the child was a student at North Central Middle School and that the school bus was not at the scene at the time of the incident.

A district spokesperson said the child was in stable condition and taken to the hospital.

WIS has reached out to the South Carolina Highway Patrol for more information.

A WIS crew is on the way to the scene.
