A hot and sunny Victoria Embankment in Nottingham

A government agency has issued a warning for Nottinghamshire residents as temperatures are expected to reach nearly 30C next week. The UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) issued a yellow three-day heat-health warning for the East Midlands from 12pm on Monday, August 11.

The alert will remain in place until 6pm on Wednesday, August 13, during which time there could be a possible increase in deaths, according to the UKHSA. Despite the impact being categorised as 'medium', the agency said those aged 65 and over or with health conditions could be at risk.
