SIOUX CITY (KTIV) - Authorities are still investigating after a New Jersey man was reported missing in Sioux City.

Sioux City Police Sgt. Tom Gill says the 47-year-old man was supposed to pick up a colleague at the Hilton Garden Inn before heading to the airport. When the man didn’t show up, the colleague contacted the Sioux City Police Department at about 5 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 6.

At around 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Gill says Sioux City Fire Rescue was sent to the boat ramp in Sioux City, at 116 Larsen Park Road. The GPS in the man’s rental car was pinged in the area around the ramp.

Gill says the car was not found in the boat ramp parking lot, so Sioux City Fire Rescue sent out a boat with sonar to search the Missouri River.
