BISMARCK, N.D. (KFYR) - A former city of Lincoln Clerk of Court is charged with stealing from the city while she worked there.

Investigators say 63-year-old Sarah Maenza stole more than $30 thousand from the Clerk’s office during her tenure. She worked for the City of Lincoln from 2015 to 2021 and was fired for inadequate and untimely completion of duties.

An investigation into Maenza started three years ago after officials believed she was not adding office fines to the accounting system.

Maenza denied the claim, telling police another individual was using her account. The person said that’s not true.

She’s due in court on Sept. 16.
