MINOT, N.D. (KMOT) - Ridership on Minot’s public transit system is on the move, and it’s going up.
Numbers show ridership is up 25% compared to last year— a steady climb, according to city staff.
The city had more than 50,000 riders use the system in the last seven months.
Transit superintendent Brian Horinka said that’s about 10,000 more than around this time last year.
“It started taking hold about October of last year, is when we started to see things really change,” said Horinka.
He said they’re seeing adults use the buses more, which is an area they fell flat in before.
One rider said she relies on city transit three to four days a week.
“I go around the south one to Walmart and the mall often, and also the northwest,” said Cinnamon, a Minot City Transit rider.
