LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) - A spokesperson for the Louisville Metro Police Department said that Friday morning’s bank robbery began as a home invasion.

LMPD is still searching for the suspect who fled the bank on foot in a white hoodie and shorts.

Police said the man forced a mother and her two children into their car, a Mercedes SUV, and drove it to the PNC Bank on Shelbyville Road while armed with a knife. He then robbed the bank’s drive thru teller before running away.

The woman was assaulted and injured, but the two children were unharmed. The mother was taken to the hospital.
