COOPERSTOWN, N.D. — An 85-year-old Hope, North Dakota, man was taken to a Fargo hospital after a crash Thursday, Aug. 7, near Cooperstown.

According to a release from the North Dakota Highway Patrol, the man was driving a 2013 John Deere tractor pulling a mower to mow a roadway ditch at 10:44 a.m. on 122nd Avenue Southeast. The driver pulled out into the road and began backing into an approach. A northbound 1994 Peterbilt, driven by a 57-year-old Finley man, struck the left side of the tractor.

The driver of the tractor, who was not wearing restraints, was ejected and seriously injured. He was taken to Sanford Medical Center in Fargo for treatment.

The driver of the Peterbilt was not injured. Possible charges against him are under investigation, the release said.
