SALINE COUNTY, Ill. (KFVS) - An Illinois State Police vehicle on the scene of a deadly crash in southern Illinois was hit by another vehicle.

According to Illinois State Police, they were on the scene of a deadly crash on Illinois 34, one mile west of Harco Road , on Friday, August 8.

At around 5:08 a.m., two ISP troopers were parked on IL-34, west of Harco Road, with emergency lights activated and blocking westbound traffic to secure the crash scene.

Troopers say a person driving a Ford Escape westbound hit the rear of one of the squad cars.

Both troopers were outside of their squad cars at the time of the crash.

The driver of the Ford Escape, 66-year-old Sandra S. Kahl, of Thompsonville, Ill., was cited for Move Over Law violations and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.
