CHEROKEE COUNTY, S.C. (WSPA) - A man was found guilty and sentenced to life in prison for repeatedly sexually assaulting a child in Gaffney, according to the 7th Circuit Solicitor's Office.

The solicitor's office claimed that the crimes occurred in Cherokee County between August 2020 and August 2022. 46-year-old Daniel Machito Buckson repeatedly molested a young girl, whose identity has not been revealed to protect her safety. Buckson also had text messages detailing the sexual abuse perpetrated on the victim.

The victim testified at the trial where Buckson was found guilty.
