JEFFERSONVILLE, Ind. (WAVE) – Officials have determined the cause of the July 30, 2025, home explosion in Jeffersonville, Indiana that sent five people to the hospital.

Jeffersonville police say that a gas leak inside the home was responsible for the explosion and destruction of the home in the 900 block of Washington Way.

Det. Cpt. Samuel Moss, a Jeffersonville Police Department spokesperson, said the investigation by Jeffersonville Fire Department and CenterPoint Energy confirmed the excess gas originated from inside the home and eliminated any issues with external gas lines or the gas infrastructure in the neighborhood.
