LUDLOW, MA (WGGB/WSHM) - After 35 years of dedicated service, Ludlow Police Chief Daniel Valadas has retired.

Valadas and members of his department got emotional Friday as they gathered to send him off. He’s held many positions with the department since he joined back in 1990. Throughout his career, his colleagues said he showed a deep dedication to professional development and training of law enforcement.

Valadas also served in the U.S. Army Reserves as a military police officer for 10 years before being honorably discharged in 1998.
