BLOOMINGTON, Ill. (WMBD) -- The Bloomington Center of Performing Arts is changing the way guests will be able to pay for their snacks.

Starting Sept. 1, the BCPA will move to cashless concessions to reduce wait times and improve guest experience, Bloomington Arts & Entertainment spokesman Joshua Maubach said.

He also said all guests attending events after Sept. 1 will only be able to pay for concessions with cards or mobile payments. Other forms of payment accepted at the Box Office and merchandise areas may still vary based on the event.

Maubach said this change reflects an adaptation of modern industry standards, with other venues going cashless since the start of the decade.

He said the goal is to decrease average line queues for both getting into the event and getting concessions.
