NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) - Friday's "summertime showers and storms" have begun and are already leaving their mark.
During the 1 o'clock hour, traffic was moving rather slowly along I-10 traveling eastbound as storms passed through the area, but at no point was the usual Flood Advisory issued for Orleans or Jefferson parishes.
One thing that sets today's storms apart from yesterday is that they should be out of our area earlier like 6/6:30 p.m. which is GREAT NEWS if you have any evening plans out on the town.
Also, these showers and storms will be seen mostly by the South Shore and coastal areas:
Temperatures will be nearing the 90-degree mark this afternoon into the early evening hours, but dinnertime will see the usual downward trend through the overnight reaching the low 80s.
