Ward County, ND (KXNET) - A 62-year-old male was found unresponsive and not breathing at the Ward County Detention Center.

Detention staff attempted to perform lifesaving measures until Trinity First Response Ambulance arrived. Once the ambulance arrived, the crew took over treatment of the inmate. The life-saving measures were not successful.

A request was sent to the NDBCI to conduct an investigation leading to the death. The Ward County Sheriff's Department will conduct an internal investigation after the NDBCI has finished its investigation
