NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — The tropics continue to be quiet locally and there is not going to be much change over the next week. There will be a wave moving west through the Gulf by the end of the weekend that could bring rain chances back up by Monday, but that is mainly just an increase in moisture.

Locally we will continue to see more standard early August weather. Rain chances for the weekend will be similar to watch we saw on Friday. Expect some isolated storms but these will be fairly few and far between. Look for partly cloudy conditions with temperatures in the low 90s. It will be hot, but not as excessive like we have seen at times in recent week.

As mentioned rain looks to be more widespread by early next week.
