ST. PAULS — The Public Schools of Robeson County Football Jamboree took place Friday night at St. Pauls High School. The fans in attendance were treated to all five schools being in action including an in-county matchup between Lumberton and Red Springs.

“We got to play a lot of young guys, inexperienced guys and see how they move around to apply the learning we have done thus far from the spring and the summer against another team,” Lumberton coach Taurius Baker said. “I definitely think it was a positive night all around.”

As the Pirates and Red Devils squared off, the Red Devils were held off the scoreboard as the Pirates outscored them 8-0 in the scrimmage, which consisted of two 20-minute running-clock halves. But the Red Springs defense held its own at times, including one intercep
