The new season is here and new head coach Rob Edwards will be hoping to start his Middlesbrough reign with a victory over Swansea City today.
By his own admission Boro are not yet the finished article, with much work still to do on both the implementation of his style of play as well as on the transfer front. But there were enough positives over pre-season to offer hope Boro can get off to the best possible start.
In doing so, they’d be repeating last season’s feat, with Emmanuel Latte Lath’s penalty securing Boro’s only opening day win in the last ten seasons in last year’s clash with the Swans. Now, however, led by Alan Sheehan, the South Wales outfit come into this campaign off the back of a solid end to last term.
Can Boro get the win they’re desperate for in the first game of
