Household windows

People across England and the rest of the UK are being advised to keep their windows, curtains and blinds shut starting from Monday. After a brief cool spell in recent weeks where sunny weather was replaced by rain - much to the delight of gardeners if not barbecue enthusiasts - a heat health alert has been issued for Monday, August 11 , by the UK Health and Security Agency (UKHSA).

Despite cooler temperatures predicted for this weekend, a Yellow Heat Health Alert will be in effect from midday on Monday for all regions except the North East and North West. The UKHSA has confirmed that the alert will commence at midday on Monday and last until 6pm on Tuesday, excluding the North East and North West regions.
