CLEVELAND, Ohio — Saturday morning brought encouraging news for beachgoers, as officials announced safe swimming conditions at two of Cleveland’s most popular beaches.

The Northeast Ohio Regional Sewer District (NEORSD) said water quality predictions show “good” bacteria levels at both Edgewater and Villa Angela beaches, meaning conditions meet safety standards for recreational swimming.

Morning surveys also recorded water temperatures of 73.4 degrees at Edgewater and 74.1 degrees at Villa Angela. The district’s forecasts are based on Virtual Beach 3.0, a modeling system that predicts bacteria concentrations from environmental data.

Officials cautioned that water temperatures and bacteria levels can shift with weather changes, urging visitors to check for updates before swimming.
