The Rob Edwards era started with a 1-0 win for Middlesbrough, as they beat Swansea City at the Riverside on the opening day of the new Championship season.

A repeat of last season’s first-game victory, this time it was Dael Fry who won the game for his side - his early second half header from a corner the difference between the two sides in a tight encounter. With a compact defence and a goal from a set-piece, Boro managed to grab all three points.

They were by no means at their best, particularly from an attacking point of view, but are a work in progress under their new boss. And nothing quite beats getting started with a win in front of your home fans. Here’s how the players rated in the 1-0 Swansea win.
