CABARRUS COUNTY, N.C. — North Carolina State Highway Patrol is investigating after a deadly hit-and-run crash in Cabarrus County.

On Aug. 3 around 4:45 a.m., troopers responded to Zion Church Road near NC 49 to investigate after a vehicle hit a person. The pedestrian, 39-year-old Uriel Nava Hesiquio of Concord, died at the scene due to his injuries.

Troopers are now looking for the driver who left the scene.

Anyone who may have information on the investigation or saw anything in the area between 3 a.m. and 4:45 a.m. on Aug. 3 is asked to call the Highway Patrol at 704-855-1047.
