Peters became the fifth Manitoba-born player to play in the majors, joining Russ Ford, Mell Kerr, Harry Sketchley and Corey Koskie. He was also the 20th Canadian born player to play in an MLB game in 2025.
“It’s surreal,” Peters told MLB.com prior to his debut against the Seattle Mariners. “I’m just excited to get out there and help the team win a few ball games.”
Peters had a minor entourage of people from Winkler at his debut as his parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends made the trek to T-Mobile Park.
