A missing man who was at the center of a days-long search at a pond in Westbrook last week has been found dead, according to the state Department of Energy and Environmental Protection.

DEEP said the body of Andrew Corbett, 38, of Westbrook, was found in Messerschmidt Pond on Saturday afternoon. His cause and manner of death will be determined by the state Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.

Corbett, 38, was last seen on the night of July 30 after his vehicle was found parked near Messerschmidt Pond and his canoe was found overturned in the water.

During the search, DEEP released Corbett's photo and asked the public for help finding him. Corbett was last seen around 11 p.m. on Wednesday, July 30 at a CVS in Gro
