NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) - Some changes in the Atlantic basin to be aware of in terms of potential tropical development...

First area is nicknamed "AL96" and its located in the central tropical Atlantic.

The National Hurricane Center says, "Disorganized showers and thunderstorms are occurring in association with a tropical wave," adding that "development of this system appears unlikely during the next day or two due to surrounding dry air."

But that's not the end of the line for this potential system as its currently forecasted to see some "gradual development" by the middle of this coming week as it moves northward.

Formation chances are at 0% for the next 48-hours and 20% for the next 7-days.
